Head Teacher's Welcome Message

Sugar Hill Primary School – “Learning and Growing Together”

I would like to begin by welcoming you to Sugar Hill. I am delighted that you are considering us as your chosen Primary School.

At Sugar Hill our aim is to ensure that all children achieve beyond their potential across the curriculum and beyond. We offer a very caring and nurturing environment where every child is valued for who they are and for their individual talents, whatever they may be. Children are supported where needed in order that all can achieve.

In order to do this we offer a very positive learning experience in a happy and safe environment, which promotes a love of learning for life.

We firmly believe that we can do this most successfully by developing a close partnership between home and school.

Basic skills are a vital part of our curriculum, but these are delivered in a well-planned, creative curriculum in order to make learning exciting and fun for the children. We offer a very wide variety of activities which support our curriculum including after school and lunch time clubs.

Sugar Hill is a very special place to work in, for both teachers and children. The children are happy and treat each other, and adults, with respect at all times.

There is a huge emphasis on team work across school and when we work together wonderful things can be achieved.

The website is full of information and photographs about Sugar Hill, it is constantly updated in order to share the activities and lessons the children take part in. Please don’t hesitate to contact school with any questions you may have. Our office staff and Senior Leadership team will be more than happy to help.

We look forward to seeing you.

Vision Statement and Core Values

Our Vision:

At Sugar Hill our aim is to ensure that all children achieve beyond their potential across the curriculum and beyond. We strive to offer a very caring and nurturing environment where every child is valued for who they are and for their individual talents, whatever they may be. Children are supported where needed in order that all can achieve. In order to do this we offer a very positive learning experience in a happy and safe environment, which promotes a love of learning for life. The school is bright, lively and welcoming where children can be creative and confident learners. Staff strive to provide a motivating and inspiring curriculum, providing enriching experiences that are relevant to the children and the lives they lead. As a result of this the children in Sugar Hill enjoy coming to school and are ready to learn. They are equipped with the skills needed to become confident, independent learners.

Sugar Hill is a very special place to work in, for both teachers and children, a place where children treat each other, and all adults, with respect at all times.

Core Values:

In these we are developing:

  • Independent learners with the knowledge, skills and positive attitudes needed to achieve their very best in all aspects of school life
  • Children who are resilient, will persevere and take risks, who are not afraid of challenge or of not always being right
  • Children who are tolerant and caring of each other in all situations, whatever their needs and who work together
  • An ability to celebrate the achievements of all, academic, sporting or creative.
  • A strong partnership with parents and carers to enable the children to reach the best outcomes
