23rd April Letter to Parents/Carers

28 April 2021 (by Vicky)

Hello everyone, another week over.

It is lovely to be back and have good weather too. It’s so good to see the children enjoying their playtimes together, something they really missed in lockdown. There is nothing better than the sound of children’s laughter and happy voices.

Thank you again for following our COVID restrictions. Just a reminder that if you are exempt from wearing a mask that you please wear your lanyard so that it is visible for staff to see.

There are just a few reminders and dates for you this week. As previously stated in newsletters it is very unlikely that the normal parent/carer events will take place this year. We will however ensure that the children enjoy their Summer Term in as normal a way as possible. We are still considering any school visits, these will certainly not take place until after June 21st as we see how everything else has opened safely.

I will let you know as soon as we have organised Breakfast Club to re-start. This will not be before May half term and only when we can do it in the safest way possible, without mixing “bubbles”.

Dates- Summer Term

Thursday 29th April /Friday 30th April- Sponsored “100 things for Captain Tom” this will take place in school- more details to follow

Monday May 3rd- May Day Bank Holiday- school closed

Thursday 6th May- Local Election Day- both Nursery and Reception classes will be closed that day

I have waited until now to let you know as I have been trying to fight having the election here at all. Unfortunately, I had no choice!!

Week beginning Monday 31st May- Half Term

Monday 7th June – School re opens after the half term

Monday 12th July – Reports out to parents/carers

Tuesday 13th July- Friday 16th July- Transition

Monday 19th July- Colour/Bubble Run

Tuesday 20th July- School closes for the Summer

More details will be shared as decisions are made on other events.

Reminders

The Book Club is now up and running each Friday. Your children will be informed when it is their turn. Please ensure the children have their money with them that morning.

I am adding the usual reminders about dropping off on zig zag lines. This still happens and is still as dangerous as ever. Please do not do it. Registration numbers will be sent to the police.

Please do not hesitate to ring or email school if you have any questions on sugarhill@durhamlearning.net

You can also use DB Primary to email class teachers directly.

Thank you again for all of your continued support and have a lovely weekend, hopefully in the sunshine.

Mrs Paula O’Rourke
