Admissions Arrangements to Sugar Hill Nursery
The school is responsible for admissions to our Nursery. The Admissions Policy will be used to determine admissions to Sugar Hill Primary School Nursery.
Sugar Hill Primary School Nursery has 20 full time places and 38 part-time places.
Full time places operate Monday – Friday (8:45am-3pm)
*This is available to children whose parents / carers fulfil the eligibility criteria
Part-time sessions operate Monday – Friday either morning (8:45am – 11:45am) or afternoon (12pm – 3pm) hours each day.
At what age can my child start Nursery?
A child can be considered for a place in nursery from the start of the term following their third birthday. A Nursery place will normally be for the three terms prior to entry into Reception. However, if places are available, Autumn term birthday children may have up to five terms prior to entry into Reception.
How can I apply for Nursery?
If you would like your child to attend Sugar Hill Primary School Nursery, you must complete an application form and send or bring it to the school office. You can apply for admission at any time although applications will not be considered until the day the application process starts, as stated in the policy. This will depend on the age of your child and when they are eligible to start nursery.
Nursery intakes take place three times a year - September, January and April (subject to availability).

Applications for Reception
Applications for a school place in Reception to Year 6 are made by contacting the Local authority. All Sugar Hill Nursery parents / carers wishing to apply for a school place in Reception must apply for a place via the Local Authority. Secondary School Places
All Sugar Hill Primary School pupils must apply for a secondary school place via their home local authority, in the case of Durham residents they would apply through Durham County Council.
