30 November 2021 (by Vicky)

Dear Parents/carers,

Hello everyone, Friday again!

I really believe the weeks are going more quickly than ever! The last three weeks at school are always full of exciting events and activities. I love this time of year, especially after Monday when the Christmas trees will be arriving. Very exciting. It seems even more exciting this year after what we have all been through with COVID.

Pantomime visits next week

Pantomime season is here! The children are all so excited for this. Oh yes they are!!

It’s so good to be doing this again after not being able to go last year. See below for a reminder of the dates.

The children must wear their uniform and bring their lunch if one has not been ordered through school. The deadline for ordering a school packed lunch has now passed.

The children can bring one small packet of sweets, please do not send huge family size packs. The children do not need money.

Curriculum Showcase

These are taking place week beginning 6th December-can’t quite believe it’s almost here.

As stated last week, I hope you understand that only parent/carer per child will be allowed to attend, as we have to limit numbers in the halls.

If you can’t make that week on the nights of Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th of December we will be holding an exhibition of work from across the school, Nursery to Y6, in the KS2 hall. This will be on from 3.30pm until 5pm both nights – again only one parent/carer.

There is still time to send back your reply slips if you have not already done so. The children are very excited to show you what their projects mean to them.

Christmas Cards

This year we are encouraging the children to only bring one card for their whole class, not only to think of the environment but also the cost of cards. If they do bring cards it must be for their own class only and they will need to give them out.

Reminders

Sugar Hill Coffee Stop

This runs every Tuesday, 9.00am to 10.00am, a great opportunity to make new friends. Tea/coffee and toast on the menu! Chat to your friends and stay warm.

School lunches

We are now back to offering the children two choices. These choices are made each Monday for the week, amended daily according to absence. The system in place is working really well.

However, we are getting lots of requests for meals that are different- no beans, no gravy etc. This can not be accommodated. Lunch time is too busy and there are too many children asking for this to make it viable. The children come into the hall and sit straight at their table, where the lunch is served to them.

The only children with anything different are children on a special diet, backed up with the correct information from the doctor or dietician.

The office must also be given notice of changes from packed lunch to meals or meals to packed lunch.

Thank you for your support in this.

Christmas Lunch

These must be ordered and paid for (KS2) by the 1st December. Please pay via the School Meals option and we will see your payment.
