Newsletter - Friday 6th May 2022

6 May 2022 (by Vicky)

Dear Parents/carers,

Another week has gone by, I would love a four-day week every week!

The children have once again come back very settled and excited to progress with their new projects.

It is a very important week for our Year 6 children next week as they take part in the SAT tests. This is the first year we have had to do this since 2019 and COVID.

The children have worked very hard over the last two terms and I know they will make us all very proud when they get the results they deserve. I know you will join me in wishing them the very best of luck.

Summer Term Dates

Week beginning 9th May- Year 6 SATs

Friday 20th May- Red Sky Foundation Charity Day- dressing in red. This is a new Charity we are supporting to raise money for a defibrillator in school. We would ask (if possible) for a cash donation on this day, thank you.

COVID 19

New DfE guidance from April 2022 states that from now the isolation period is 3 days for children from their first positive day and 5 days for adults. There is now no requirement for two negative LFTs.

This is only guidance but we do ask that this is followed so that we can keep numbers low.

Attendance is now only recorded as an illness- there is no mark specifically for COVID.

Reminders

Uniform

Thank you to parents/carers for sending the children in their school shoes. The children have come back from the Easter break looking very smart. I do understand that is not always easy so I do appreciate the effort you go to in order to ensure this standard is followed. Thank you.

Parking

As you know the police have now painted yellow lines between Entrance B and C. Thank you for not parking there, this has eased congestion outside of school.

However, that means some people are now parking opposite which is causing an obstruction and blocking drives. Please do not do this.

Sugar Hill Coffee Stop

The coffee stop will continue to be open every Tuesday morning this half term in the dining room from 9.05am to 10.00am. Come to Entrance B as soon as you have dropped the children off and start your day with a cuppa, toast and a chat.

Thank you for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
