Newsletter - Friday 8th July 2022

8 July 2022 (by Vicky)

Dear Parents/carers,

Friday again- what a quick week it has been. We have seen the start of the showcases where the children are sharing their learning from the Summer Term projects. Thank you for your support and I’m sure you will agree the children have worked hard this term and produced some excellent work.

There was a very special Y6 Showcase on Monday when they not only shared their learning but reflected on leaving Sugar Hill. It was an emotional afternoon.

It really does not seem like five minutes since they started here! We wish them all the very best of luck in their new schools and in the next phase of their education.

Reminders

Uniform

Please remember that nail varnish and extreme haircuts are not part of the uniform and although it is near the end of term this has not changed.

I do understand that the children may have grown out of their shoes and are wearing trainers. Please ensure you put a note in the planners to inform class teachers if this is the case.

COVID

Unfortunately, we are still seeing a slight increase in COVID cases across school. Please just be vigilant with your children. Sickness seems to be the main symptom at the moment.

The children, if testing positive, need to stay in isolation for 3 days and then they are allowed back to school providing they are well enough. This is now recorded as an absence not as a special case.

Parent Pay

Can all Y6 parents please ensure Parent Pay is paid up to date before your children leave? Thank you

Visits

There have been lots of visits happening this term and we understand that this is a hard time for families but in some cases parents/carers are not contributing to these visits. As a school we very heavily subsidise these visits, often paying for the buses which are very expensive. We really do need parents/carers to pay their share or these visits may not be able to take place.

This can be paid in instalments on Parent Pay.

As most places have now lifted COVID restrictions we will look to spreading these visits across the year in order to help families with children in more than one-year group.

Thank you for your continued support in this.

I would also like to ask that parents/carers ringing the office treat the office staff with some courtesy- they are there to help you.

Any calls that become abusive or aggressive will be ended.

Sugar Hill Coffee Stop

There will be NO coffee stop in the last two weeks of term. We look forward to seeing you all in September.
