Update for Parents and Carers

Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you for the very positive feedback around the plans for transition next week. We are all excited to see the children. Following several parental enquiries, I am writing to clarify some key points.

✓ All children must be brought to school and picked up by an adult or older sibling (must be 16+).

✓ One adult only with each child. Please ensure the children stay with you as they wait to come in and do not run around. Follow the social distance signs.

✓ Please do not arrive too early, especially in the morning as we have other children coming into school at 9.15

✓ The children must not bring anything with them into school. We have had several questions about gifts for staff and although this is very kind, this year the children will not be allowed to bring these into school.

✓ Reports will be given out at this session. You will not be able to find out your child’s new class/teacher for September until then.

✓ Anyone not coming to the transition session can come to pick up reports on Friday 17th July between 9.30am and 11.00am only. In the case of Year 6 this will include the leavers tee shirts.

✓ The children are coming into this session in their current class

✓ The children can wear their own clothes.

✓ Nursery children will see their previous teachers and be given reports on dates during the week beginning 13th July. Mrs McCormack will send out dates and times. Children in Early Years will also complete their transition period in September.

✓ If there are any other questions please email school at sugarhill@durhamlearning.net

Please note these points are in place to ensure the safety of you and your children at all times. Please ensure you respect the social distancing in place.

A letter will follow next week about the plans for September. Please note the children will be wearing uniform in September and if you have any questions about that please email school.

Thank you again for your continued support

Mrs Paula O’Rourke
