Friday 18th June 2021 - Newsletter

22 June 2021 (by Vicky)

Dear Parents/carers

The end of another week. A week we thought would see the announcement of all restrictions lifting has now been delayed by a month. Better to be safe than sorry.

I had already made the decision to keep our school restrictions and routines. These will stay in place until the end of term.

Many of the routines, that work so well, will stay in September. News on these will follow in the coming weeks.

After School Clubs

There will be various clubs running across school for the last 4 weeks of term. There will be a more comprehensive programme in September.

Morning Club

For anyone interested, the survey must have been completed – you will have received a text message today giving you the chance to do so if you have not already.

This will run from Monday June 21st to Friday 9th July.

This is a trial run and is subject to change in the three weeks it is running.

It will be run in two departments to minimise the number of children in one space. Hopefully most mornings will include outside activities.

Nursery to Y2 children will be in KS1 hall and children from Y3 to Y6 will be in KS2 dining room.

Please line up on each drive, masks must be worn, and stand at least 1m apart. The children must wait with you and not run around.

This will run from 8.20am to 8.55am each morning. Anyone arriving after 8.30 am will not be allowed entry.

The cost will be £1.00 per day. This will increase in September.

There will be a drink and snack given but no “breakfast” at the moment.

I need to point out that if a child tests positive for COVID in the Morning Club, then all children attending in that department will have to isolate as well as the full class of that child.

This is the main reason I have not implemented this before now.

Reminders

Sun cream and hats

Please ensure the children have cream on each morning and hats with them. They will be spending time outside during this lovely weather. Long may it last!!

Dropping off/picking up

Please remember that this is not allowed outside of school on yellow lines or on the bus stop. Thank you

Waiting at the gates

Please do not let the children run around on the path or climb on the fence while waiting to enter school. This blocks the path for people walking past school and could result in children falling into the road. Please do not come too early so that there is less time to wait. Thank you for your support in this.

Trainers

I understand that we are close to the end of term and school shoes may be small but trainers are not part of the school uniform. I can accept all black trainers but should trainers have any colours then the children will be asked to wear PE shoes indoors. Thank you for your support in this.

Sandals can be worn – no heels or toe posts.

KS2 Morning Break

Please note that only fruit or cereal bars will be allowed. No chocolate, crisps or sweets should be brought in from home as a mid-morning snack. We also ask that you do not put sweets in packed lunches.

September Induction Primary Schools

We would like to alert you to a company which is holding ‘Induction Sessions’ for parents/carers of September 2021 starters and charging £4.95 per person to attend an online session without the consent or knowledge of some of our Head Teachers and Governors. The link below will take you to the website which lists approximately 20 primary schools with specific dates and times of meetings:

https://www.littlelandofadventures.co.uk/mini-adventures/

The following text appears next to each school meeting:

“This session is for children who will be starting NAMED primary school in September 2021. This session gives you and your child the chance to meet some parents and children that you will be spending time with in September. The idea is to make the first day in September as comfortable as possible for you all.”

This is not part of our induction.

Change of address or phone number

Please ensure the office are made aware of changes to addresses, email addresses and phone numbers. This is vital in case of emergencies.

Thank you for your continued support. It really is greatly appreciated.

Have a lovely weekend
