Dear Parents/carers,

Here we are into October and the Autumn is well and truly with us.

Thank you for your patience at gate times when the weather is not good. If it is raining on a morning we will aim to get all of the children into school as quickly as possible. At home time we will do the same. Please remember this is not an excuse to park on the zig zag lines.

Please ensure all of the children have coats with them now as it is cold and we will still be taking them out to play regularly as part of the system we have in place to help reduce the risk of COVID.

The children are now well into their new projects. Look out for a leaflet coming home next week to explain more about this. The children are all very excited by this and are already producing some great work.

I would also like to ask this week that if you are concerned about anything to do with your child that you contact your child’s class teacher in the first instance. This can be done through DB Primary or via a phone call where a face to face meeting may need to be called.

I am also at the middle gate every morning and afternoon. Mrs Legge is at Entrance C and Mrs Rowntree at Entrance A.

We are all here to help but things cannot be sorted unless we know.

Thank you to all parents/carers who do this.

Reminders

Parking/dropping off

This problem is not going away. I know that this is something I mention weekly but I would still urge those people that do not listen to please do so before an accident happens.

This includes dropping off for breakfast club.

The school Mini Police are going to be out very soon to encourage parents/carers to do the right thing and park away from school.

Registration numbers of cars breaking the law are taken and passed to the police.

Coats/hats and gloves

Please can you label hats etc, especially in Early Years and KS1. Thank you

Afterschool Clubs

It has been lovely to see lots of children staying at school to take part in a variety of clubs after school. There will be lots of opportunity throughout the year for the children to access clubs if they were not successful this time.

Late arrivals

There are still a number of children coming into school late. Please ensure your child arrives in their allotted time slot. This is so important as the children are missing their morning maths starter, some children every day.

If your child starts at 8.45am then 8.55am is the end time and if 8.55am is the start time then 9.05am is the end time. After the end time your child/children are late. The gate will be closed at 9.05am and after this time you must ring the office.

Payments for Pantomime and other visits

These are all placed on Parent Pay as soon as possible to allow parents/carers to spread the cost. If you any issues with Parent Pay please contact Mrs Blacklock in the office.

Please continue to ring the main office if you are going to be late or have anything to drop off at the office during the day. The phones are on from 8.30am each morning until 4.30pm after school, Monday to Thursday and 4pm each Friday.

Thank you for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend.
