Newsletter - Friday 8th October 2021

8 October 2021 (by Vicky)

Dear Parents/carers,

Hello everyone, Friday again. How fast the weeks are going. Only two weeks left until half term! Autumn really has arrived, what a very mixed week of weather. Please ensure your children are dressed appropriately and always have their coats in school. You never know when it’s going to rain!!

Today we have been remembering Young People’s Mental Health by wearing non-uniform and yellow.

Thank you for any donations to an excellent cause.

The term is really progressing and the children are now well settled into their new classes and are really doing some fantastic work.

Look out for a leaflet coming home briefly explaining our new Global Curriculum. We are very excited about what is going on in school and the very first projects taking place.

Hopefully the children are telling you all about it too. There will be a week in December where all projects will be showcased for parents/carers.

I have been approached by a parent to let you know about a game becoming popular, “Squid Game”, a survival game where children are lured into playing games to win money, if not they die.

As always please be very vigilant about what your children are accessing on games and social media.

I would also like to apologise to Reception parents/carers for the van reversing down the drive at home time on Wednesday this week. All visitors on site know that they are not to use the drive between 2.45pm and 3.20pm. I have complained to County about this particular case.

Reminders

Late!

I need to remind you again of the time allocated for you to arrive in school. There is a ten-minute slot for every year group. Please ensure you are on time.

Nursery 8.45am - 9.00am

Reception Class 1must be in by 8.55am and Class 2 must be in by 9.05am

Year 1, 4 and 6 must be here by 8.55am or they are late

Year 2, 4 and 6 must be here by 9.05 am or they are late.

Gates will close be closed at 9.05am. After this time, you must ring the office.

The children coming late on an almost daily basis are missing their vital morning maths starter every morning, which will impact on their maths work in lessons. Learning starts the moment the children come into school.

Teaching the children to be on time is a vital life skill. Being late for work on a daily basis would lead to a lost job.

Thank you to the vast majority of parents/carers who are on time every day.

Payments for Pantomime and other visits

These are all on Parent Pay as soon as possible to allow parents/carers to spread the cost. If you any issues with Parent Pay please contact Mrs Blacklock in the office.

KS1 Home time

Please do not allow your children to walk on the walls or stand on seats as you walk out of the KS1 yard. The children are not allowed to do this in school time. Thank you

Please continue to ring the main office if you are going to be late or have anything to drop off at the office during the day. The phones are on from 8.30am each morning until 4.30pm after school, Monday to Thursday and 4pm each Friday.
