Newsletter - Friday 10th December 2021

14 December 2021 (by Vicky)

Dear Parents/carers,

Hello everyone – last Friday of school for 2021! Unbelievable and what a year! I just hope after Wednesday’s announcement that we are not in for another restricted 2022.

Please ensure that if someone is positive for COVID in your household that daily lateral flow tests are given to the children before they attend school. We have had an increased number of children testing positive on LFTs with no symptoms at all.

The three-week Christmas break is coming at a really good time.

We finish next Thursday 16th December and do not return until Thursday 6th January.

I will be watching the guidance very carefully and will keep you updated if anything changes.

Showcase Week

I am so glad we managed to hold the showcases this week.

Thank you so much for all of the support you have given the children during their year group showcases.

I am sure you will agree that the children have worked so hard on their projects this term and produced some excellent work. Not only that but they are able to articulate what has been their focus.

There were some lovely comments made about the work completed and about being able to come back into school again and share in the buzz created by enthusiastic and excited children.

It really has been a fabulous week.

Remember that there will be a cross section of work from all year groups on show in the KS2 main hall on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Please wear a mask if attending.

A survey will be sent out- you may already have it- asking for your comments on the week’s events.

Reminders

Late arrivals

The number of children arriving late is growing again.

Please note that if your start time is 8.45am to 8.55am- 9am is late, even though doors are still open.

If your start time is 8.55am to 9.05 am then 9.10am is late and gates are closed. Please ensure your children are here on time so that they do not miss their morning starters every day.

We kept the 10-minute slot to ensure lateness would not be an issue. Please make this a New Year Resolution!

Sugar Hill Coffee Stop

The coffee stop will be open on Tuesday 14th December – join us for a Christmas cuppa!

Christmas Lunch

The deadline for taking orders has passed. Please don’t ring the office to ask as the answer will be no. Numbers have been given to the kitchen so that food can be ordered.

After school clubs

There will be no after school clubs next week. They will start again in January.

Christmas Dates

Monday 13th December/Tuesday 14th December- Showcase Exhibition 3.30pm- 5.00pm- Main hall

Wednesday 15th December- Christmas lunch. Children can wear Christmas jumpers/non-uniform again (this includes children on packed lunch)

Thursday 16th December – Parties for all year groups and end of Term – Party clothes to be worn, please send warm coats and choose sensible shoes, as the children will still be outside

Christmas holidays-School closes on Thursday 16th December and we return on Thursday 6th January

Thank you for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
