Newsletter - Friday 14th January 2022

14 January 2022 (by Vicky)

Dear Parents/carers,

Hello everyone, the first full week of 2022. The children are so settled and straight back into their new Projects. There is again a real buzz around school and an excitement for what is to come. Information on the new projects will be coming home soon and posted on the website.

The end of Autumn Term Showcases were amazing and lots of parents/carers have left some lovely comments on the survey. The children had thoroughly enjoyed working in this new and exciting way and are looking forward to the next Projects.

This is always a lovely term, as days get warmer and lighter- in theory! We look forward to an exciting, productive term that we will share in the Spring Term Showcases.

COVID

Please ensure that if someone is positive for COVID in your household that daily lateral flow tests are given to the children before they attend school. We have had an increased number of children testing positive on LFTs with no symptoms at all.

Symptoms are varied too- some children are having sickness, while others it is more of a cold. If your child is unwell I would suggest doing a test.

Thank you for your support in this, it is helping to keep numbers low.

DB Primary

Please ensure that if your child is absent from school, work will be added to DB Primary for them to complete.

Reminders

Late arrivals

Please note that if your start time is 8.45am to 8.55am- 9am is late, even though doors are still open.

If your start time is 8.55am to 9.05 am then 9.10am is late and gates are closed. Please ensure your children are here on time so that they do not miss their morning starters every day.

We kept the 10-minute slot to ensure lateness should not be an issue.

Dropping off/picking up on Zig Zag lines

Please remember that this is illegal and very dangerous. Every time I have to write this in the newsletter it is because someone has ignored this advice and continued to stop in order to drop off/pick up. Even if this is for a few seconds it is still dangerous and illegal. Please do not do it!

Sugar Hill Coffee Stop

The coffee stop will be open every Tuesday morning this half term in the dining room from 9.05am to 10.00am. Come to Entrance B as soon as you have dropped the children off. It’s cold out there- start your day with a cuppa and toast.
